Another idea for the back of my tarot cards.
This one is a more complicated design incorporating the four elemental symbols on the corners surrounding an oval flower of life. Angel Air Top Left - Eagle Water Top Right - Ox Earth Bottom Left - Fire Lion Bottom Right, with their symbols and in their corresponding colours.
The original painting was made with Bombay Inks on H40 x W30 cm Ampersand Claybord. Both these materials are sublime to work with and after layer upon layer of painting they have a jewel, stained glass clarity to them. This work has many small details like the pearls in the mesh of gold petals.
Have you seen the Green Flower of Life work, which do you prefer and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts as my cards will be made for people like you! Send me a message via the contact page :)
The original work is available to buy in my shops drawing collection.
Why the Flower of Life?
......because I have always loved and been drawn to this symbol by its symmetry, repetition and a seeming simple perfection. Wouldn't a flower of life make a great tattoo?
This mystical symbol can be found in almost all major religions in the entire world. The Flower of Life is said to be over 6,000 years old and is composed of several concentric, equal, overlapping circles. It is said to contain vital information on the secrets of the universe and all living things. The earliest record of this symbol was said to be found on the alabaster steps that were once parts of the palace of King Ashurbanipal and has been dated to 645 BC.
Many spiritual and mystical geometric figures have been drawn from the pattern of the Flower of Life. The sacred Tree of Life in Kabbalah teachings, for instance, may be taken from the concentric patterns within the Flower of Life. Leonardo da Vinci, himself, was able to derive platonic solids and the golden ratio of phi from the Flower of Life.

I am now offering this image as an instant download for you to make a digital print, frame as you please and bring a mystical mood to any room.
About this digital download:
This is a large file at 300dpi which can print up to H 48 x W28 cms H19 x W11" so will fit fine inside most paper sizes and frames.
A link to the image (Max size H 48 x W28 cms H19 x W11" ) will be sent immediately upon payment.
Although you can print on to any paper, I recommend an archival fine art paper if you intend to use the image as an art print. An excellent choice would be Hahnemeuhle rag paper in a satin or vellum finish. https://www.hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-fineart.html
Printing on paper between 200 and 300gms will work in most home printers and will give your print a firm place to fix. You can also use the image for a canvas, aluminium or other print through a professional printer.
The image is set at the ratio of a generic tarot card size apx H12 x 7cm H5 x W3" and keeps this ratio up to the largest size so there will always be a border to your print which you can crop as you wish. Please see example image of print with border.
I have also included a few fun mock-ups of the print framed at different sizes and in various situations etc.

Advice about printing:
You can print onto any paper under 300gms on most home printers ( with more choice at a printers) but I suggest you use a high quality, archival fine art paper where possible so the colours stay true and deep.
If you are making the image into an art print please use a paper between 200 - 300gms with a satin or vellum surface, this works best with the artwork. I personally love hannumhule rag paper. You can see the range here: https://www.hahnemuehle.com/en/digital-fineart.html
Choose the size that best fits your space.....remember the image will have border so select your frame carefully. I have inclued some mock up image to give you ideas about what the image will look like at different size, in various settings, frames etc.
If you are making the image into an art print please use a paper between 200 - 300gms with a satin or vellum surface, this works best with the artwork.
A bright white paper will allow the colours to show through best.
